DWI and Drug Possession Charges in Collin County and Denton County

In Texas, driving while intoxicated or with a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of .08% or more will result in a DWI charge. Texas also charges adults over 21 with DWIs, rather than DUIs, for driving under the influence of drugs. DUIs are reserved for anyone under 21 found driving with alcohol in their system. 

Texas also has some of the harshest drug laws in the country. Charges can range from misdemeanors to first-degree felonies. Furthermore, although some states have made efforts to decriminalize marijuana, most Texas counties and cities continue to have little tolerance for it.
